Please note that dogs in our program are only available for adoption to those living in Northern California (North of the Tulare/Kings-Kern and Monterey-San Luis Obispo county line), Oregon border counties and western Nevada (Washoe-Carson City-Douglas counties). Special exceptions for working LGDs may be made in neighboring counties on a case by case basis. In any case you must have adequate fencing. Please visit our website www.GPRNC.org for more information. Abe is an approximately 4- 5 year old male working Great Pyrenees. He was found along with 3 other working Pyrs, one of them pregnant that later passed away due to health complications, in a rural area of Fresno county along with his flock of sheep. Since being fostered he has discovered the house life and enjoys coming and going so would make a great Family Farm dog in a situation where he is not just out in a field. . He gets along well with other dogs, tolerates cats and was working with sheep. He has not been tested with any other livestock. He is a large boy, very friendly and easy going but does stand ready to let predators and trespassers know he is on duty.
